الشر بعضه من نسيج بشربتنا ومجتمعاتنا. يحاول المصلحون إصلاحه بقدر ما يستطيعون. أو يصبرون عليه مثل صبر الله عليه. وبعضه هو إساءة مباشرة واعتداء يجب أن يُوقَف. الاعتداء الواقع علينا، نردُّه، ونُصلِحه.

قال السيد المسيح: "أحبوا، اغفروا" (متى٥: ٤٤؛ متى ٦ : ١٤).

نعم، ولكن هذه الوصية تعني أولا: كن مستعدًّا للمغفرة والمصالحة دائمًا.

ثانيًا: الإنسان الخاطئ هو موضوع الحب، وليست خطيئته أو اعتداؤه عليك هو موضوع الحب.

لما قال السيد المسيح "أحبب عدوك"، قال: أحبب الإنسان، لم يقل: أحبب خطيئته واعتداءه.

الاعتداء يجب إيقافه.

ثالثا: المحبة ليست مشاعر أو عواطف، بل هي طلب الخير حتى للعدو، طلب الخير الذي يريده الله له.

من ثم الشر فيك تقاومه. والشر في غيرك والواقع عليك تقاومه، الشر شر للإنسانية كلها.

كما أن الخير الذي تصنعه أنت أو تدعو أخاك إليه، هو خير له، وللإنسانية كلها.

When will we be patience with evil, and when do we act to resist it?
Some kind of evil is part of the fabric of our humanity and our societies. Reformers try to fix it as much as they can or they are patient as God is. Another kind of evil is a direct personal harm or aggression against oneself. This must be stopped. It is true that Jesus said, "Love and forgive" (Matthew 5:44; Matthew” 6: 14). This commandment means: first, be internally prepared to forgive and accept reconciliation. Second, the enemy, as a human being, is the subject of love, not his/her sin or his/her oppression imposed on you. Sin, oppression cannot be loved. When Jesus said "Love your enemy", he said: Love the human person created in the image of God; he did not say: Love his/her sin and aggression. Evil must be stopped. Thirdly, love is not only feelings or emotions, it is an act of will, it is “willing” good to others, even to the enemy, the good that God wants for him/her. 
You resist evil in yourself. You resist evil in others when it is against you. Evil in others, which is oppression of yourself, you must resist, because evil against you is also part of the general evil against humanity. It is the same way as goodness in yourself and in your enemy is also part of all humanity.
